Patrick Dempsey isn’t just another celebrity brand ambassador. He’s someone fully immersed in the world of TAG Heuer — and it’s obvious from the very first image, whether he’s seen at a racetrack or walking a red carpet. Dempsey is one of the most prominent faces of the historic Swiss watchmaker. The charming “McDreamy,” as he was known during his time playing neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy, has aged gracefully. With his silver hair and effortless charm, he’s one of those rare men who only become more attractive over time.
His relationship with TAG Heuer dates back over a decade, beginning in 2014. But unlike many superficial brand collaborations, this one feels genuine. There’s a real sense of mutual respect and admiration between the acclaimed actor and the Swiss maison. Now, this bond takes on a new dimension, as Patrick Dempsey becomes the face of the TAG Heuer Eyewear collection.

It’s not hard to see why. Much like Steve McQueen in his time, Dempsey doesn’t play a role—he is the role. His passion for speed doesn’t end with the characters he’s portrayed. A skilled racing driver in real life, he has competed in some of the world’s most demanding endurance events, including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. In fact, in 2015, he finished second in the GTE Am category after completing 331 laps — a remarkable achievement. He’s not just a Hollywood actor who loves watches; he’s someone who genuinely values precision, endurance, and commitment.

I’ve seen plenty of ad campaigns featuring actors, models, and influencers, but rarely has a brand ambassador felt as natural and authentic a choice as Dempsey. He seems like he was born into TAG Heuer’s world. Whether he’s at a boutique opening, trackside at the Monaco Grand Prix, or behind the wheel at Rennsport Reunion 7, his presence is always consistent, grounded, and real. The same holds true now, as he fronts the new collection of sunglasses and optical frames created by TAG Heuer in partnership with Thélios, the LVMH eyewear specialist.

In the campaign, Dempsey is photographed in a pose reminiscent of the iconic image of Jack Heuer holding a chronograph — a visual synonymous with TAG Heuer’s deep racing heritage.

He wears two signature models from the collection: the Jack Heuer and Mini Vingt-Sept lines. The result is not just stylish — it feels like a living bridge between past and future. When Dempsey portrayed racing legend Piero Taruffi in the 2024 film Ferrari, it seemed like a cinematic continuation of Jack Heuer’s groundbreaking 1971 partnership with Ferrari.
Everything about this collaboration feels just right — a beautiful fusion of motorsport, storytelling, and timeless design.
