Richard Mille is a Swiss watchmaker that has forged its own exceptional path, known for avant-garde creations of the highest standards and specifications, advanced materials, and movement architectures deeply inspired by the world of motorsport and racecars. Its recent collaboration with the French motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior—often referred to as the “Rolls Royce of motorcycles”—should come as no surprise. One glance at the machine they have co-created is enough—even for those unfamiliar with motorcycles—to realize this is a bold project, a one-of-a-kind creation well outside the beaten path. The new Richard Mille x Brough Superior RMB01 merges masculinity and femininity, combining aggressive design with elegant curves. The influence of haute horlogerie is visible throughout, especially for those familiar with Richard Mille timepieces. After all, both brands are defined by their obsession with detail, passion for innovation, and relentless pursuit of perfection.

A Track Machine
The RMB01 draws its inspiration from the legendary Board Trackers, early racing motorcycles that competed on wooden oval tracks in the United States during the early 20th century. These machines were stripped of all non-essential components, reduced to their mechanical essence: lightness and performance.

The design of the RMB01 embraces this minimalist heritage, with defining features such as an elongated fuel tank, a minimal seat, and a fully exposed engine. This classic philosophy is brilliantly re-imagined through modern aesthetics: muscular, elliptical, and taut lines give the bike a dynamic, feline silhouette.
The impression of lightness is further emphasized by numerous visible cutouts across the body, along with aerodynamic appendages that channel airflow to create downforce and enhance stability.

The RMB01 Engine
Every part of the RMB01 has been specially designed and engineered. Its frame is crafted from CNC-machined aluminum, combined with a forged carbon exoskeleton, while the engine itself plays a structural role, serving as a load-bearing element for the frame and suspension, contributing decisively to the motorcycle’s stiffness and composure.

Like a piece of sculptural art, the 997cc V-twin engine is carved from solid blocks of 5000-series high-grade aluminum (notable for its high magnesium content), with outer casings fully machined on 5-axis CNC equipment. Special attention has been paid to weight optimization through careful material removal in every component. As a result, from 160 kilograms of raw metal, only 23 kilograms of finished parts remain.
The entire engine is made from the same aircraft-grade alloy used in both the swing arm and fork, ensuring structural integrity and weight reduction across the board, factors that significantly improve handling and overall performance.

A closer look at the RMB01’s components reveals numerous parallels between watchmaking and motorcycle engineering: a visible mechanical speedometer, innovative materials, and assembled wheels that echo the layering of gears inside mechanical watch movements

Richard Mille himself worked closely with Thierry Henriette, CEO of Brough Superior. Over the course of 18 months, they went through multiple phases and prototypes before finalizing the design of the RMB01.

The Richard Mille x Brough Superior RMB01 is produced in a limited series of 150 pieces. It is hand-assembled in Toulouse, France, and is offered in three exclusive colorways: Pearl of Speed (a matte pearlescent white with red accents), Selene (an anthracite grey with orange details) and Nocturnal Sapphire (a dark navy blue with vibrant blue highlights).
As for its price? It reflects the exclusivity of the design and the rarity of the piece. It starts at $120,000 (approximately €102,000) and varies depending on the version.
