Generally speaking, I’m not the envious type. Never in my life have I coveted something my neighbor owned—be it material or emotional. Of course, I’ll admire something beautiful and maybe daydream about it for a moment. But like any human being, I do have my weaknesses. Watches are one of them. Whenever people ask me what watch I’m wearing or whether I have a collection, I usually dodge the question. Quite simply because the watches I’d truly love to own—watches I’d actually wear, not lock away in some vault—are all so expensive that they remain forever out of reach. Still, when it comes to envy, there is one collection I genuinely covet and would love to possess, even for just 24 hours. Unfortunately, I’m not a billionaire like Mark Zuckerberg. Because it’s his collection I’m talking about.
As a journalist who has spent decades immersed daily in the world of watchmaking, it’s only natural that I have my preferences, both in terms of watchmaking maisons and in terms of the specific creations they unveil each year. To my surprise, though, I discovered that my own tastes align strikingly with those of Mr. Facebook! I don’t know if he has someone advising him, but he has managed to build a truly astounding collection.

Scrolling through his Instagram, the pieces that grace his wrist are all first-class: Patek Philippe, F.P. Journe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Bulgari, Greubel Forsey, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie. As for their estimated value? Anywhere from tens or hundreds of thousands to several million. The numbers are dizzying. And to think, these are only a few pieces from his collection; no one really knows how many watches he actually owns. Watches with extraordinary design, mechanical ingenuity, and avant-garde spirit. Rare, distinctive, and exceptional—a true hymn to the art of horology and to the genius of its makers. Chapeaux, Mr. Zuckerberg!

AUDEMARS PIGUET Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Automatic Chronograph
A modern interpretation of one of the most timeless complications in watchmaking. Among the finest skeletonized watches out there, this flying tourbillon from Audemars Piguet combines pink gold with black ceramic, creating a striking contrast between warmth and depth. Released in a limited edition of just 50 pieces, it represents the fusion of cutting-edge mechanics and bold design. Now, we happen to know one of the fifty lucky collectors who owns it.
Estimated value: €290,000

BULGARI Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC
Thinner than a coin and barely thicker than a credit card, this watch defies the laws of mechanics. Measuring just 1.7 mm in total thickness, the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC features a case and bracelet crafted from sandblasted titanium, powered by a manual-winding movement that has earned chronometer certification from COSC. Recognized as the thinnest mechanical watch in the world, and one of the slimmest ever created in the history of horology, it stands as a testament to Bulgari’s relentless pursuit of miniaturization and innovation. Mr. Zuckerberg is among the twenty fortunate individuals worldwide to have secured one of these ultra-rare timepieces.
Estimated value: €600,000

DE BETHUNE DB25 Starry Varius
When you’re so wealthy and you can’t find your constellation in the sky, you can always have it made, and that’s precisely what the De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius offers on its mesmerizing dial. This independent creation features a 42 mm pink gold case and an exceptional hand-wound mechanical movement packed with multiple patented innovations, delivering an impressive six days of power reserve. In September 2024, the Meta CEO was spotted wearing it during a corporate event at the Chase Center, in front of six thousand attendees, where he spoke about the future of AI.
Estimated value: €80,000

DE BETHUNE DB28XS Purple Rain
Another extraordinary creation from De Bethune, this time in a 38.7 mm titanium case that has undergone thermal oxidation to achieve its unique purple hue. Equally remarkable is its embossed purple dial, decorated in a random pattern and dotted with tiny gold spheres representing stars in the night sky. The watch is powered by a hand-wound movement offering six days of power reserve, combining traditional craftsmanship with cosmic aesthetics. Zuckerberg wore this striking piece in an Instagram video announcing Meta’s collaboration with Oakley sunglasses. The shades were cool, yes—but what truly stole the spotlight was the rare violet De Bethune on his wrist.
Estimated value: €75,000

F.P. JOURNE Centigraphe Sport Aluminium 073-CTS
A fully mechanical, hand-wound chronograph crafted entirely from a lightweight aluminum alloy, the Centigraphe Sport is a technical marvel. Its 42 mm case, sapphire crystal subdials, and aluminum bracelet with rubber inserts combine functionality with a sporty, high-tech look. Mark Zuckerberg wore this remarkable piece while taking the stage at the Meta Connect conference in September 2024, where he presented the company’s latest advancements in artificial intelligence.
Estimated value: €150,000

F.P. JOURNE Chronomètre Bleu Byblos
This is one of the rarest creations by independent watchmaker François-Paul Journe, released in 2014 in a limited edition of just 99 pieces. It features a tantalum case and a semi-skeletonized dial that reveals the 18K manually wound rose gold movement — a classic yet distinctive choice for the Meta founder’s collection. Originally priced at around USD 20,000, it now commands six-figure sums on the secondary market. For instance, in April, one example was sold at Sotheby’s for €205,000.
Estimated value: €250,000

F.P. JOURNE Chronomètre Souveraine ‘Havana’
In a charming Instagram clip that reveals his more human side, Mark Zuckerberg is seen carefully painting his daughter’s nails, wearing, on his left wrist, yet another piece from F.P. Journe. The Chronomètre Souveraine “Havana” stands out for its warm brown tones, inspired by the hues of Cuban cigars, from which it takes its name. Don’t be fooled by its apparent simplicity: the watch’s platinum case houses a beautifully finished hand-wound movement, directly inspired by 19th-century marine chronometers. Among Zuckerberg’s collection, it’s one of the most understated, yet refined, pieces he owns.
Estimated value: €100,000

F.P. JOURNE FFC Platinum 42mm
One of the most imaginative timepieces ever conceived, the F.P. Journe FFC was created in collaboration with legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Crafted in platinum, it replaces traditional hands with a mechanical titanium hand that indicates the time through twelve distinct finger positions — a true work of kinetic art. The original prototype, the FFC Blue, featuring a blue titanium hand, sold for CHF 4.5 million at the Only Watch 2021 charity auction. Following its success, Journe decided to produce the watch in extremely limited numbers, no more than 15 pieces per year. One of those few has found its way to Zuckerberg’s wrist, proof that even in the world of tech, mechanical poetry still has its place.
Estimated value: €900,000 – €1,000,000

GREUBEL FORSEY Hand Made 1
From one of the most revered independent maisons in haute horlogerie, the Greubel Forsey Hand Made 1 represents the pinnacle of artisanal watchmaking. Each piece is crafted entirely by hand, with every component — down to the tiniest screw — meticulously shaped, polished, and finished by human hands. Only three examples are completed each year, as the process requires an astounding 6,000 hours of labor. It’s heartening to know that this extraordinary tourbillon isn’t locked away in a safe or vault but is actually worn and enjoyed by its owner in daily life. A creation of such beauty and complexity deserves to see the light of day.
Estimated value: €850,000 – €950,000

GREUBEL FORSEY Nano Foudroyante
One of Mark Zuckerberg’s most recent acquisitions is the Nano Foudroyante, the 10th “Fundamental Invention” from Greubel Forsey. Its movement operates at the nanojoule scale, allowing for drastically reduced energy consumption, fewer components, and more compact dimensions. The result is a 37.9 mm timepiece that combines the world’s first perpetual Nano Foudroyante with the brand’s first flying tourbillon and a manual-wind flyback mechanism. Crafted in white gold and limited to just 22 pieces, it represents a new frontier of micro-engineering. Yet Zuckerberg’s watch is even more special: it’s one of the prototype samples, obtained before the model officially entered production.
Estimated value: €540,000

Η. MOSER & CIE Streamliner Skeleton Tourbillon
A true masterpiece of contemporary watchmaking, the H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Skeleton Tourbillon showcases its intricate mechanical world in full view. Part of the brand’s current Streamliner collection, it features the signature 40 mm stainless steel case and integrated bracelet that define Moser’s sleek, modern aesthetic. Inside beats the automatic Calibre HMC 814, with a flying tourbillon positioned at six o’clock, a mesmerizing focal point set against a dark mainplate, anthracite-grey bridges, and carefully placed rose-gold accents that enhance the play of contrasts. Zuckerberg was spotted racing on a dirt track while wearing this striking timepiece — an unlikely setting for such a refined mechanical creation.
Estimated value: €85,000

JAEGER-LECOULTRE Master Ultra-Thin Kingsman Knife
Compared with his other horological heavyweights, this piece from Jaeger-LeCoultre seems almost understated, yet it’s a quietly exceptional choice for the tech billionaire. Known for its mastery of high complications, Jaeger-LeCoultre took a different route here, creating an ultra-thin gold watch inspired by a 1907 LeCoultre pocket watch. The crown positioned at 12 o’clock is a nod to its vintage inspiration, while its razor-slim profile gives the model its evocative name, “Knife.” Produced in partnership with the cinematic franchise Kingsman and limited to only 100 pieces worldwide, it’s a collector’s dream that marries elegance, heritage, and pop-culture flair.
Estimated value: €34,000

PATEK PHILIPPE Chronograph Annual Calendar 5961R
It’s safe to say that Patek Philippe holds a special place in Mark Zuckerberg’s heart. Ηe’s been seen wearing several of the brand’s most coveted references over the years. One of them is the Ref. 5961R, which combines a chronograph with an annual calendar in a perfect balance of functionality and refinement. Housed in a 40 mm 18K rose gold case, it features a bezel set with 36 baguette-cut diamonds weighing a total of 3.48 carats. Elegant and unmistakably luxurious, it’s the kind of watch most would reserve for black-tie occasions — yet Zuckerberg, true to form, wore it casually with a simple black T-shirt and jeans in an Instagram video. In the clip, he performs an acoustic rendition of Lil Jon’s “Get Low”, alongside rapper T-Pain, to celebrate his “dating anniversary” with his wife, Priscilla Chan. Still, we haven’t seen any comparable high-end timepieces on her wrist…
Estimated value: €180,000 – €200,000

PATEK PHILIPPE Chronograph Perpetual Calendar 5270 1R-001
The power couple made an appearance in Washington, D.C., for the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this year. Both dressed entirely in black, they each added a touch of opulence to their looks: Priscilla Chan with a Bvlgari necklace set with large multicolored cabochon gemstones, and Mark Zuckerberg with a magnificent Patek Philippe Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5270/1R-001. This 41 mm masterpiece in solid rose gold is paired with a signature “goutte” link bracelet, and powered by the hand-wound calibre CH 29-535 PS Q, composed of 456 individual parts, all finished to perfection in classic Patek fashion. A watch of quiet majesty, it embodies everything that defines Patek Philippe — heritage, precision, and timeless elegance.
Estimated value: €245,000

PATEK PHILIPPE 1/10th of a Second Monopusher Chronograph 5470P-001
At first glance, it might appear to be a simple chronograph, but there’s nothing simple about the Patek Philippe Ref. 5470P-001. Introduced in 2022, this Grand Complication is a genuine milestone for the brand: the first wrist chronograph capable of measuring 1/10th of a second. Powered by the high-frequency, hand-wound calibre CH 29-535 PS 1/10, operating at 5 Hz, the watch incorporates 31 patents and two independent chronograph mechanisms — one for conventional timing, and another dedicated to tenths of a second. Developed by Patek’s Advanced Research department, it’s an extraordinary feat of micro-engineering and precision. The 41 mm platinum case features a single pusher controlling all functions, and, in true Patek fashion, a small diamond discreetly set between the lugs at 6 o’clock. Zuckerberg wore the watch — once again with a simple T-shirt — in an Instagram video discussing Super Intelligence, Meta’s next-generation AI system.
Estimated value: €500,000

PATEK PHILIPPE Minute Repeater Tourbillon Ref. 5303R
Presented in 2020, this exceptional timepiece is one of Patek Philippe’s most technically and aesthetically complex creations. The Minute Repeater Tourbillon Ref. 5303R stands out for its openworked architecture — there’s no dial, allowing a clear view of the striking mechanism, with its hammers and gongs proudly displayed on the front of the watch. Beneath the subdial for the seconds at 6 o’clock, one can also admire the reverse side of the tourbillon cage, adding to the sense of depth and dynamism. The hand-wound calibre R TO 27 PS comprises 356 components, all finished to Patek Philippe’s exacting standards. Its 42 mm rose gold case features a polished bezel and decorative white gold leaf-shaped inlays along the flanks and lugs, enhancing the watch’s sculptural presence. It is reportedly the most expensive piece in Zuckerberg’s collection, with a retail price exceeding €800,000, and a secondary market value nearly double that figure.
Estimated value: €1,500,000 – €1,800,000

ROLEX Cosmograph Daytona 6239 “Paul Newman”
To close the list, we turn to a vintage legend; the kind of watch collectors refer to as a unicorn for its extreme rarity. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 6239 “Paul Newman” is the gold version of the iconic chronograph associated with the late Hollywood actor and racing enthusiast Paul Newman himself. Zuckerberg was seen wearing this extraordinary piece during a boxing match, accompanied by his wife. True to his trademark casual style, he paired the rare vintage Daytona with a simple, understated outfit, letting the watch speak for itself.
Estimated value: €800,000
I’ll stop here, because it’s impossible to include every watch the founder and powerful figure behind Meta has been seen wearing over the years. It’s clear that his collection is both extensive and enviable. What I truly appreciate—and the reason I decided to dedicate such a detailed feature—is that every watch he owns, no matter how expensive, complex, or rare, is not something he keeps locked away. He wears it. He’s made it part of his everyday life. He doesn’t seem to treat it as an investment, but as an object of substance. Οne that deserves to accompany him through his life. I’m genuinely curious to see what else will appear on his wrist in the future.
Note: The prices listed below each watch are not official retail prices but estimated market values based on the secondary market.
