Literally swimming just a breath away from sharks, Laurent Ballesta and his team took part in the Tamataroa program—a joint initiative by the Mokarran Protection Society and the Gombessa expedition project. The second phase of the ambitious Tamataroa program has just been completed. Its goal: to achieve tangible conservation results for one of the ocean’s most iconic and endangered species—the great hammerhead shark.
