10 Brand New Titanium Watches

Stronger, lighter, and more corrosion-resistant than stainless steel, titanium has earned a loyal following in the world of watchmaking. Proof of this is found in the ten models below, all launched in 2025.

Most of us know that titanium is a hard, very lightweight metal with a distinctive grey hue, used across various industrial sectors and in watchmaking with great success. But how much do we really know about this material? Before diving into this year’s freshest models, it’s worth exploring some useful facts.
Titanium was discovered in the 18th century by British mineralogist William Gregor. It began to be industrially produced in 1910 by American metallurgist Matthew Albert Hunter and is now used in nearly every sector of industry, including watchmaking. It is primarily used in sports models and especially in watches with chiming complications, as the material amplifies sound.

Did you know…
  • The first titanium watch hit the market in 1970, launched by Japanese brand Citizen?
  • Titanium is extracted mainly from minerals such as rutile and ilmenite. It is processed into a variety of known alloys.
  • According to ASTM international standards, there are 38 titanium grades. Two of them are primarily used in watchmaking: Grade 2 and Grade 5. There is also Grade 23, rarely seen in watchmaking, though BLANCPAIN has used it in Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe and Air Command 36 mm models.

Let’s now look at a selection of titanium watches released in 2025, presented in alphabetical order:

Titanium watches
1. BLANCPAIN Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV

The latest addition to the Fifty Fathoms collection is crafted from Grade 23 titanium — as mentioned above, an incredibly robust and lightweight material on the wrist. This is a limited edition of 100 pieces, featuring a 45mm diameter case, 14.1mm thickness, water resistance to 300 meters, helium escape valve, dive bezel with a black ceramic insert, and automatic movement. For every watch sold, €1,000 is donated to the Blancpain x Sulubaaï Ocean Research Centre, meaning Blancpain’s total contribution will be €100,000. The Swiss brand is known for its longstanding commitment to ocean protection. For at least two decades, it has supported scientists, explorers, foundations, and institutions.

2. CHOPARD Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF

When you’re searching for titanium watches, Chopard might not be the first brand that comes to mind, typically associated with elegant Haute Horlogerie pieces in noble metals or steel. However, in its sporty Alpine Eagle collection, there’s a line of high-frequency 8HF models that raise the bar in innovation and precision. The third installment was unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2025: the Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF. It’s not only the lightest watch in the Alpine Eagle collection but also in Chopard’s entire offering. The 41mm case, crown, dial, and even the movement are made from ceramised titanium — titanium that has undergone a special ceramic surface treatment to enhance durability and scratch resistance.

5. GRAND SEIKO Evolution 9 ‘Ice Forest’ UFA Spring-Drive SLGB003

If you’ve looked into the technical side of watchmaking, you may know that titanium is notoriously difficult to polish to a high shine — which is why it’s typically seen with matte, grainy, or satin textures. But Grand Seiko doesn’t shy away from this challenge. Their titanium watches have a dazzling finish. When I first saw this watch at Watches & Wonders 2025, I assumed it was made of steel. But picking it up revealed its lightness — it was clearly titanium. I was also impressed by the dial, inspired by ice-covered forests in the Kirigamine Highlands during harsh Japanese winters. The SLGB003 will go down in history as the “UFA,” standing for Ultra Fine Accuracy. Inside is Grand Seiko’s latest Spring Drive caliber, accurate to ±20 seconds per year. As of April 2025, it is the world’s most accurate mainspring-powered movement.

This “Jade” version is limited to 500 pieces, named for the vibrant jade green used on the dial and Milanese-style rubber strap. It features a satin-brushed Grade 5 titanium case with polished titanium bezel, matched beautifully with a dark olive-green dial and matching smooth leather strap with cream stitching. It also comes with a second rubber strap in the same shade, making it ideal for water and sports use. Inside ticks the P.980 automatic manufacture movement with 3-day power reserve. Among the most exciting independent watchmakers, Ressence continues to innovate quietly but effectively. At Watches & Wonders 2025, I had the chance to wear what is perhaps their most advanced tool watch yet. The new TYPE 7 is designed for today’s travelers and introduces a GMT function for the first time. The 41mm case is made from Grade 5 titanium and features Ressence’s distinctive oil-filled dial that creates the illusion of time being projected directly onto the domed sapphire crystal.
