An Icy Dial for a Cool Countdown: Omega Speedmaster Milano Cortina 2026

Omega Speedmaster Milano Cortina 2026
It was unveiled to mark the start of the 100-day countdown to the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games 2026.

A few years ago, at a private Omega event held at the brand’s boutique on Voukourestiou Street in Athens, I found myself among a small circle of collectors and loyal friends of the maison, there to preview some new models. I’ll never forget the excitement of one of them as he proudly showed me the two almost identical watches he was wearing—one on each wrist. They were both limited Olympic editions, individually numbered, differing only in their subtle colour accents. He confessed he couldn’t choose between them, so he decided to buy both. That story has stayed with me as a reminder of how deeply Omega’s bond with the Olympic Games runs. Since 1932, the brand has served as the event’s official timekeeper, and every edition brings special creations that become instant collector’s favourites. The new Speedmaster Milano Cortina 2026 is one such piece, unveiled to celebrate the countdown to the next Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Winter spirit

Only one hundred days remain before the opening of this major event, which will take place from February 6 to February 22, 2026, with Omega once again taking on its historic role as Official Timekeeper. The brand’s first involvement in a Winter Olympics dates back to 1936, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and for nine decades since, Omega has continuously advanced sports timekeeping technology, setting new standards for precision and excellence. For Milano Cortina 2026, Omega will time all 116 competitions across eight disciplines, including ski mountaineering, which will make its Olympic debut.

The Watch

The Speedmaster Milano Cortina 2026 chronograph features a 38 mm fully polished stainless-steel case. Its blue ceramic bezel ring with white enamel tachymeter scale frames a dial that captures the essence of winter. The white base plate is coated with a very pale blue lacquer that evokes the texture of ice, and upon closer inspection, one can discern a subtle pattern inspired by the number “2” from the Milano Cortina 2026 emblem. The three sub-dials are pure white with a concentric azurage finish, reminiscent of perfectly groomed ski slopes.

The details, however, make it even more captivating. The central chronograph seconds hand fades beautifully from light blue to deep navy, a delicate dégradé effect that adds motion and depth. All other dial accents appear in dark blue, including the distinctive Milano Cortina 2026 numerals that appear in the date window at 6 o’clock.
