Good news for MB&F and M.A.D.Editions enthusiasts around the world. A new version of the M.A.D.2 is about to be released, continuing a philosophy that has already formed one of the most intriguing “tribes” in contemporary watchmaking. The new M.A.D.2 R&B brings forward a bold yet balanced combination of red and black, staying true to the design identity that defined the model from its very first appearance.

The M.A.D.2 made its debut in 2025, translating Eric Giroud’s personal aesthetic and his love for 1990s club culture into a wristwatch. The inspiration from vinyl records and DJ turntables is not merely visual; it is embedded in the way the watch “moves” and interacts with its wearer.

Red & Black with musical references
The new edition is called R&B, a dual reference that works both as an abbreviation for Red & Black and as a nod to the music genre that shaped club nightlife. The dial and strap are rendered in deep midnight black, creating a discreet yet powerful backdrop against which the red hour and minute discs stand out. The aesthetic remains instantly recognizable, but the colour approach gives the watch a darker, more mature expression compared to the original version.

The raffle
As is now the case with all M.A.D.Editions releases, the M.A.D.2 R&B is not sold through traditional retail channels. Instead, it follows the established raffle system, which has become a defining part of the brand’s identity. Registrations open on April 14 at 2:00 PM (CEST), the same day Watches & Wonders 2026 begins in Geneva, and will remain open for one week, allowing everyone the opportunity to participate. Selection is made through a random draw, overseen by a judicial officer, ensuring full transparency. The process includes a payment pre-authorization system, with charges applied only if selected, lowering the barrier to entry and reinforcing a sense of fairness.

Price and availability
The M.A.D.2 R&B is priced at 2,900 Swiss francs, excluding VAT, maintaining M.A.D.Editions’ approach of offering creative, design-driven watches at relatively accessible price points. Deliveries are expected to begin in April 2026 and continue through October of the same year.
M.A.D.2 REDemption: when persistence is rewarded
Alongside the R&B, M.A.D.Editions introduces a second, more exclusive version called REDemption. This edition is not aimed at the general public, but at a very specific group of collectors: those who have participated in at least four previous raffles without success. In a move that strengthens the bond with the brand’s community, these dedicated enthusiasts will have direct access to the watch without having to go through another raffle. It is a clever concept that turns repeated disappointment into privilege, further reinforcing the relationship between the brand and its collectors.
