I’ve always been fascinated by all the shades of water. From the pale blues you find on tropical beaches with powdery white sand, to the countless variations of blue and turquoise hidden away on secret shores in the Cyclades and Halkidiki, all the way to the deeper blue-greens that borrow their hue from lush greenery in secluded coves, bays, and caves anywhere in Greece. That’s why today I was instantly excited when I opened my inbox. The subject was precisely that: a very special, dynamic shade of turquoise, one that, surprisingly, is neither loud nor flashy, yet transports you to crystal-clear tropical waters. This is the colour OMEGA chose for its new Seamaster Aqua Terra Turquoise.

What makes it so distinctive is the way the soft turquoise at the centre of the dial gradually darkens toward the edge, like gazing at the sea from the surface down into the depths. On this captivating backdrop of polished lacquer, the wedge-shaped hour markers and three central hands in black PVD stand out in perfect contrast. All are coated with Super-LumiNova, which emits a soft blue glow in the dark.

This well-balanced composition is framed by a smooth bezel in matt black ceramic (ZrO₂), an aesthetic choice that blends elegance with a sporty character, perfectly complementing the integrated rubber strap. The strap itself is black, with an embossed texture that, to me, recalls sailing rope, and it features turquoise stitching, a small detail that makes a big difference and completes the whole picture.

The new Seamaster Aqua Terra Turquoise comes in two sizes: 41 mm and 38 mm. The first is powered by the automatic Calibre 8900 with a 60-hour power reserve, while the second houses the automatic Calibre 8800 with 55 hours of autonomy. Both movements hold the title of Master Chronometer, which means they are METAS-certified, resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss, and offer exceptional precision.

Which one to choose?
Both new Aqua Terra models are water resistant to 150 metres. Thanks to their solid construction and refined sport-chic design, they’re ideal for both the city and for seaside adventures, even deep dives. Although I haven’t seen them in person yet, I believe both sizes are equally tempting for men and women, depending on wrist size. I can’t wait to try them on my own wrist, because honestly, I can’t imagine which one I’d ultimately choose. The only thing I know for certain is that I would definitely choose one, because, like all Aqua Terras, these are watches that perfectly balance timeless elegance with a spirit of adventure. And with this dial colour, I find them irresistibly sexy.

As I mentioned, these specific models come with a beautifully integrated black rubber strap, lightweight, ergonomic, hugging the wrist to offer stability and comfort. Of course, for bracelet lovers, OMEGA has thought ahead, so this option is also available within the collection.
What do I love most?
That in the Aqua Terra Turquoise everything is carefully measured and perfectly balanced: the colours, the textures, the cutting-edge technology, the understated design that impresses without shouting for attention. These are watches made to be worn every day, at any time, with any outfit. And most importantly? They carry a touch of summer magic. A little luxury that will be just as welcome in the grey of winter.
