What I really like about Hamilton is its bold take on design. If you look closely at their watches, even the ones with the most classic aesthetic, there’s always something that sets them apart from the crowd. It might be a small, almost imperceptible detail. But more often, it’s the entire design approach of each model. This year’s three new chronographs are the perfect example. Even though they share plenty of common ground – such as their movement – they’re each completely, utterly different. Where to begin? With the retro punch of the Chrono-Matic 50? The refined balance of the Intra-Matic Auto Chrono? Or maybe the bold, sporty personality of the Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono 42mm?
HAMILTON Chrono-Matic 50

With an unmistakable vintage vibe that takes you straight to the 1970s, the Chrono-Matic 50 makes a bold statement on the wrist. Its uniquely shaped 48mm steel case, with two elegant crowns and large pushers on the side, has been faithfully preserved from the original.

This updated edition, however, is powered by a modern automatic movement, the H-31 with 60 hours of power reserve, and stands out thanks to its daring use of color: a beautiful deep blue dominates the dial and perforated leather strap, accented with smart, strategically placed orange details. This is a limited edition of just 150 pieces, impossible to miss and perfect for those who love retro flair and a watch with a story.

HAMILTON Intra-Matic Auto Chrono

Classic but never dull, the Intra-Matic Auto Chrono is the kind of watch you can wear without hesitation to the office, a dinner date, or a weekend road trip. It draws inspiration from Hamilton’s first automatic chronograph from 1969, and today it forges a more modern path with updated design and a reliable Swiss movement.

Its clean lines, race car–inspired styling, and old-school charm come in three different versions, all featuring a 40mm jet-black case and black dial, with white, yellow, or orange accents on the central chronograph hand, the tachymeter scale, and the perforated leather strap. Personally, I still can’t decide which of the three I like best.

HAMILTON Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono 42mm

Modern elegance with a dynamic twist. The new Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono 42mm strikes the perfect balance between energy and refinement, making it a stylish and technically accomplished everyday watch. Its H-31 automatic movement is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case with black PVD coating. The black bezel features a tachymeter scale that underlines the racing DNA of the design.

But the real highlight is the well-executed, contemporary dial, with three subdials, each with its own layout, bold hands, and a visible date disc that adds an appealing three-dimensional feel. Here too, the chronograph wraps around your wrist with a finely crafted perforated leather strap. If you’re after an all-day timepiece with a bold personality, this is it.
