Every year, the moment I step inside the Palexpo—the exhibition center that hosts Watches & Wonders—my first instinct is to head straight to Rolex’s massive green-and-gold booth. Why? To find out what the legendary Swiss brand has in store for the year ahead. Curiosity? Anticipation? Excitement? Probably a mix of all three. It feels almost like a ritual—one I suspect is shared by most attendees. As the saying goes: there’s Rolex, and then there’s everyone else.
Only once you’ve started your journey there do you feel free to explore the rest of the fair. It’s only natural, then, that my first article from Watches & Wonders 2025 offers a first taste of Rolex’s latest releases. Rest assured, more in-depth features on standout models will follow.

ROLEX Land–Dweller
This is the headline news of the year, as the Land-Dweller marks the beginning of a new chapter for Rolex. Following the Sky-Dweller and Sea-Dweller—covering sky and sea—it’s time to plant our feet firmly on land with a thoroughly modern watch, impeccably executed both inside and out.
It features a slim-profile case, a honeycomb-pattern dial, and an integrated flat bracelet, while housing a brand-new 5 Hz movement equipped with an innovative Dynapulse escapement system.

ROLEX GMT–Master II
One of Rolex’s most iconic models returns in 2025 with two major firsts: it’s now available in 18K white gold and features a Cerachrom dial—the first time Rolex has used ceramic for a dial.
The chosen hue is a bright green, matching the bi-color ceramic bezel surrounding the case. Another unique touch: the crown is placed on the left side of the case, making it ideal for left-handed users or those who prefer to wear their watch on the right wrist.

ROLEX Oyster Perpetual
Rolex’s most approachable collection, the Oyster Perpetual, gets a fresh splash of color with matte lacquer dials in soft pastel tones: lavender purple, beige, and pistachio green.
They’re available in a range of sizes—28 mm, 36 mm, and 41 mm—all with stainless steel cases and bracelets.

ROLEX Perpetual 1908
This refined take on the classically elegant Perpetual 1908 comes in yellow gold and features a newly developed gold bracelet called Settimo, designed exclusively for the 1908 collection.
Delicate and silky-smooth on the wrist, it redefines elegance. Compared to earlier versions that came on leather straps, this feels like a completely new watch.

ROLEX Datejust 31
This year’s Datejust 31 made its Geneva debut in a dazzling 18K yellow gold version, featuring a red gradient dial set with 10 diamond hour markers. The bezel is adorned with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds, transforming the watch into a true piece of wrist jewelry.

Three New Dials
And the excitement doesn’t end there. Rolex also introduced three of its iconic models with striking new dial variations:
The Cosmograph Daytona appears in yellow gold with a turquoise lacquer dial and a black Oysterflex strap.
The GMT-Master II in Everose gold features a dial made of tiger’s eye, a semiprecious stone known for its distinctive natural patterns.
Finally, the new Sky-Dweller combines yellow gold with a vibrant green sunray dial, creating a dynamic interplay of color and light.
