That time of year has come again\u2014one that, for us journalists, is filled with excitement, anticipation and, inevitably, long days of work waiting in the halls of Palexpo in Geneva. The countdown has begun. Watches and Wonders Geneva <\/a><\/strong><\/span>returns in 2026, from April 14 to 20<\/strong>, once again transforming Geneva into the global epicentre of high\u2014yet not only\u2014watchmaking. And I say not only, because alongside the Salon of Fine Watchmaking, the entire city comes alive. Dozens of additional brands, microbrands and independent creators are ready to welcome journalists, retailers and enthusiasts, either through parallel exhibitions or private presentations in the suites of central hotels, by appointment. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

What unfolds during these days is far more than a traditional trade fair. It is a complete, immersive experience that stretches from the Salon to the heart of the city\u2014a week-long celebration blending new releases, technological innovation, craftsmanship and culture. <\/p>

A Salon That Keeps Growing<\/strong><\/h6>

This year\u2019s edition marks another milestone, with the addition of 11 new brands and the continued expansion of the \u201cIn The City\u201d programme. The Salon hosts 65 maisons of high watchmaking <\/strong>alongside independent companies, welcoming both industry professionals and the general public. More than 6,000 retailers<\/strong>, 1,600 journalists<\/strong> and approximately 15,000 invited guests<\/strong> are expected in Geneva. To put things into perspective, last year\u2019s edition attracted nearly 55,000 visitors from 125 countries. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

As always, attention turns to the new watch releases. Among the exhibitors are nearly all the major names, including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier and Vacheron Constantin\u2014joined this year by Audemars <\/u><\/strong>Piguet<\/u><\/strong>.<\/a> Alongside them, independent creators and avant-garde brands make a strong statement, with names such as H. Moser & Cie., Laurent Ferrier and Ressence continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary watchmaking. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Innovation and the Future of Watchmaking<\/strong><\/h6>

The renowned LAB within Palexpo enters a new phase, unveiling a redesigned space dedicated to innovation and cutting-edge technologies. Around 15 startups have been selected from a pool of 60 applicants, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and social impact. <\/p>

At the same time, the \u201cWake Up!\u201d exhibition<\/strong> offers a different perspective, exploring the history of alarm clocks from the Middle Ages to the present day. More than 50 objects from the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art et d\u2019Histoire de Gen\u00e8ve are on display, inviting visitors to reflect on their relationship with time and the act of awakening.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The City Takes Centre Stage<\/strong><\/h6>

Watches & Wonders 2026 extends well beyond the exhibition halls of Palexpo. The city centre itself becomes a key part of the experience, hosting a series of events that transform Geneva into a vibrant stage. A highlight is the partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival,<\/strong> which, for the first time, curates the event\u2019s musical programme. At Quai G\u00e9n\u00e9ral-Guisan, a new 600-square-metre venue inspired by the Montreux Jazz Club will host live performances, DJ sets and more intimate evening experiences for visitors. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At Pont de la Machine, the Watchmaking Village becomes a meeting point for those wishing to explore the world of horology up close. Workshops, educational initiatives and career presentations highlight the many paths within the industry. Meanwhile, the partnership with \u00c9cole cantonale d’art de Lausanne <\/strong>(\u00c9CAL)<\/strong> continues for a third consecutive year, with students presenting artistic installations that reinterpret the concept of time through contemporary creative lenses. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
